THE ALBERTON CROWD is an active supporter group. Here's a bit of a history.
TAC started off in late 2010, wanting to be more than just another group of faces in the crowd - rather, wanting to be an idea. Strongly influenced by the culture and ideas of association football (or soccer), it was time to bring some fresh life into Port Adelaide's supporter scene and show the rest of the country just what PAFC fans can do.

The group formally debuted in Round 2 of the 2011 season Football Park, hence the 'Est. 2011' subtext in the logo and on most scarves. TAC collaborated with the Port Adelaide Cheer Squad in Bay 119 and continued to grow. Over 2011 and 2012, the group became known for generating atmosphere and adding colour through big flags and banners.
The tragic death of John McCarthy reminded all fans about the spirit and values of the club. It brought everyone together and was the catalyst for the years ahead. |
